Guwahati, 03 June (HS): A man from Tripura lost his life in a hit-and-run incident near Judge Field in Guwahati on Wednesday, triggering concern over reckless driving in the city.

The deceased has been identified as Bishwabrata Sinha, who was reportedly staying in Guwahati for medical treatment. According to sources, Sinha had gone for a walk and was returning when a speeding Alto car struck him near the Judge Field area in Latasil of Guwahati.

He sustained critical injuries in the collision and was rushed for medical attention. However, he later succumbed to his injuries. The vehicle involved in the accident reportedly fled the scene after hitting the victim.

Police have launched an investigation into the incident and are working to trace the offending vehicle and its driver. Further details are awaited.-----------
