New Delhi, 03 June (H.S.): The Indraprastha Vikas Party (IVP) on Wednesday expressed deep sorrow over the deaths caused by the hotel fire in Delhi’s Malviya Nagar area. Party leader and senior Municipal Councillor Mukesh Goyal urged Delhi Mayor Pravesh Wahi, Municipal Commissioner Sanjeev Khirwar, and Chief Minister Rekha Gupta to order a high-level investigation into the incident and ensure strict action against those found responsible.
Mukesh Goyal said that incidents of fires and building collapses have been increasing rapidly in Delhi, causing innocent residents to suffer loss of life and property. He stated that such tragedies could be prevented if timely action were taken against illegal constructions and unauthorized commercial activities.
Goyal further said that if officials and employees of various departments found guilty during the investigation are subjected to stringent action, it would send a strong message and help curb similar incidents in the future.
He emphasized that accountability must be fixed at every level to ensure that negligence and violations of safety regulations do not continue to put public lives at risk.
