Kolkata, 22 February (H.S.): West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Sunday morning paid a heartfelt tribute to Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, a great freedom fighter and one of the architects of modern India, on his death anniversary. The Chief Minister remembered Maulana Azad's contributions through a post on the social media platform X.

In her message, Mamata Banerjee wrote that Maulana Abul Kalam Azad's life symbolized the power of knowledge, communal harmony, and unwavering patriotism. She said that Azad was not only a leading leader of India's freedom struggle but also one of the great personalities who laid the foundation of modern India.

The Chief Minister also noted that Maulana Azad's entire life was dedicated to national unity, the spread of education, and strengthening mutual brotherhood. His thoughts and ideals continue to inspire the countrymen even today.
