Sambhal,
22 Feb (HS): The chief of a Hindu right-wing organization has vowed to invade
artists' homes in Mumbai and teach them a lesson over films that criticize
Sanatan Dharma. Raj
Shekhawat, national chief of the Kshatriya Karni Sena, expressed strong
opposition to the upcoming films Yadav Ji Ki Love Story and
Ghooskhor Pandat while addressing to media after giving prayers at
the Chamunda temple in Hallu Sarai.
Shekhawat
believes the time has come to enter the houses of producers and directors who
make films on our deities and culture and teach them a lesson. He asserted
that, after assaulting the Kshatriya and Brahmin groups, filmmakers are now
insulting the Yadav community through cinema, using freedom of speech as a
pretext to create content that misleads young and offends religious feelings.
I'm
telling Karni Sena workers to be ready. We will soon travel to Mumbai and take
action against such filmmakers in their homes, Shekhawat said. Regarding the
issue surrounding Yadav Ji Ki Love Story, which is set to be
released on February 27, Shekhawat stated that the whole community has already
protested. Some members of the Yadav community have expressed concern over the
nature of the love connection between a Yadav woman and a Muslim guy, claiming
that it might disrupt social harmony and hurt communal emotions.
Some
BJP officials have also called for a ban on the film's distribution. There was
no response from the filmmakers to the charges. On March 8, the Karni Sena head
called a mega-movement in Delhi to protest the new UGC equity norms.
