Guwahati, 22 February (HS): Soon after joining the Assam unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party, former Assam Pradesh Congress Committee president Bhupen Bora has been appointed as a member of the party’s State Executive Committee.

The appointments were officially announced on Sunday by Assam BJP president Dilip Saikia. According to a letter issued from the Assam BJP headquarters and signed by State General Secretary Diplu Ranjan Sharma, Bora has been inducted into the State Executive Committee following his entry into the party.

In addition, former Assam Youth Congress general secretary Dr. Sanju Baruah has been included in the BJP’s state media panel immediately after joining the party. Another prominent leader, Shankarjyoti Baruah, has also been appointed as a media panelist.

Notably, all the above leaders formally joined the BJP earlier in the day in the presence of Dilip Saikia. Their swift appointments to key organisational positions are being seen as a reflection of the party’s recognition of their political stature and significance.----------
