Lucknow,
15 Feb (HS): A steady rise in temperature this week in Uttar Pradesh has raised
concerns about premature wheat harvests. This has increased farmers' concerns.
If the weather remains this way, wheat production will be affected.
There
has been a continuous increase in the daily temperature this week. The possibility
of wheat crop being affected due to strong sunlight has increased, due to which
the farmers are worried. Progressive farmers Mansingh Bhadoria, Udaybhan Yadav,
Suresh Kumar, Pradeep Gupta and other farmers say that the sunlight should not
be strong till the end of February. The effect of cold should also remain, but
since last one week the cold is continuously decreasing and the day temperature
is continuously increasing. There is a strong possibility of wheat crop being
affected due to this. The increase in temperature will have an adverse effect
on wheat production and it will ripen prematurely.
On
Sunday, Technical Assistant of Agriculture Protection Unit, Ajit Kumar Shukla
also considers the increasing temperature to be fatal for the wheat crop. He
said that farmers should water the wheat crop within 15 days.
