15 Feb (HS): The Japanese Company, QP Corporation, will set up a food
processing plant in Yamuna City. The plant will require eight to ten acres of
land, and the Japanese company will invest Rs. 200 crore. This will bring in
foreign investment and create new employment opportunities. The company
management will soon submit a proposal for the plant. The Japanese delegation
met with Yamuna Authority officials here and, after inspecting the industrial
parks, expressed their interest in investing here. This will be Yamuna City's
third food processing plant. Previously, land has been allocated for two
companies: Patanjali and Innova Food Park.
According
to the authority official, The QP Corporation officials have liked the
infrastructure of Yamuna City. In the meeting, the foreign delegation said that
soon the proposal related to investment will be presented before the Board of
Directors of the company. After this, it will be finalized. The Authority's
ACEO Shailendra Kumar Bhatia and other officials were present in the meeting.
QP Corporation, active in 79 countries including America and China, is a global
food processing company of Japan, which is known for its egg-yolk based
mayonnaise and umami taste profile. This company, which has about 60 percent
market share in Japan, is active in more than 79 countries including America,
China, Vietnam, Thailand. The company manufactures fruit jams, sauces and fruit
solutions etc. along with healthy food products.

Singh, Chief Executive Officer of the Yamuna Development Authority, stated that
land has already been allocated to two companies. The first is Patanjali. He
added that Patanjali Ayurved has been allotted 430 acres of land in Sector 24
and Sector 24A of Yamuna City. Patanjali has begun construction of a food
processing unit adjacent to the Mega Food Park. A dairy with a capacity of 1
million liters per day will be established here, producing a large quantity of
dairy products, including cheese and paneer.
The
second company, Innova Food Park, Kolar (Karnataka), will open an agro hub
(agricultural export center) on 30 acres of land in Sector 24. This facility
will have modern facilities for testing, grading, and packaging agricultural
and horticultural products. The agro hub will be approximately 10 kilometers
from the cargo terminal, making transportation of goods faster and cheaper. He
stated that positive discussions were held with the Japanese delegation. Upon
receiving the proposal from QP Corporation, it will be evaluated and then
submitted to the Board and the Department of Industries for formal approval.
