Guwahati/New Delhi, 14 February (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a scathing attack on Congress during his address to the BJP's 'Booth Vijay Sankalp Sabha' in Guwahati on Saturday, accusing the party of perpetually endangering national security and forcing Assam and the entire Northeast to live in fear and insecurity.

Marking the Pulwama attack anniversary, PM Modi paid tribute to the bravehearts who sacrificed their lives defending India, highlighting the global witness to India's decisive retaliation against terrorists. He questioned Congress's capacity for such bold national-interest decisions, alleging their policies prolonged violence and instability in the Northeast.

Under BJP governance, Assam has transitioned from bomb blasts and annual violence to enduring peace, with groups like Bodo, Karbi, Adivasi, DNLA, and ULFA abandoning arms for constitutional paths—a result of coordinated central and state efforts.

Congress treated the Northeast as a mere vote bank, allocating just ₹10,000 crore annually in tax devolution; BJP has quintupled this, disbursing over ₹5.50 lakh crore for projects in the past 11 years, with ₹50,000 crore provisioned in this year's budget.

Viewing the Northeast as 'Ashtalakshmi,' the government prioritizes economic self-reliance, with budget emphasis on connectivity via thousands of crores for national highways. Modern highways capable of emergency aircraft landings, like the Moran facility, bolster security; Brahmaputra river tourism will expand, fueling local economies.

Congress neglected digital connectivity up to 4G; BJP rapidly deploys 5G to villages, empowering Guwahati's youth with high-speed internet. Millions access housing, toilets, and clean water through welfare schemes, crediting grassroots workers.

PM Modi, calling himself an ordinary BJP karyakarta, urged booth-level victories by reaching every voter, emphasizing that booth wins secure elections. He accused Congress of softening toward divisive forces weakening India, appealing for continued BJP-NDA support for Assam's progress.

A massive BJP worker turnout reinforced PM Modi's conviction that Assam and the Northeast will form developed India's robust foundation, leading national advancement.
