New Delhi, 14 February (H.S.): The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, approved on Saturday the extension corridor of the Noida Metro Rail Project from Sector 142 to Botanical Garden (Noida), spanning 11.56 kilometers with eight elevated stations.

This development marks a substantial expansion of the city's metro infrastructure, bringing the operational network across Noida and Greater Noida to 61.62 kilometers upon commissioning. The corridor aims to forge seamless integration among Noida’s pivotal commercial, corporate, educational, healthcare, and recreational hubs.

The route links vital commercial centers like Advent Business Park in Sector 142, SkyMark One Mall in Sector 98, and Mall of Noida in Sector 93. It also connects multinational giants and IT hubs including Microsoft (Sector 145), TCS (Sector 157), Havells (Sector 126), alongside educational institutions such as Amity University (Sector 125), Panchsheel Balak Inter College (Sector 91), and Mahamaya Balika Inter College (Sector 44), plus healthcare facilities, the Botanical Garden, and Sector 93 Park.

Government sources indicate this extension will amplify connectivity, catalyze economic vitality, and streamline urban mobility for residents and commuters tied to employment, commerce, education, and routine transit. It promises reduced congestion, environmental gains through lower emissions, heightened productivity, and equitable access to public transport.
