New Delhi, 14 February (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi commemorated the seventh anniversary of the Pulwama terror attack today, paying solemn tribute to the 40 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel martyred in one of India's deadliest strikes on security forces.

On February 14, 2019, a suicide bomber from Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammed rammed an explosives-laden vehicle into a CRPF convoy near Lethpora in Pulwama district, Jammu and Kashmir, killing 40 jawans from the 76th Battalion and injuring dozens more; the perpetrator, local recruit Adil Ahmad Dar, also died in the blast.

Modi's TributeIn a poignant X post , PM Modi reflected: Remembering the brave heroes who laid down their lives in Pulwama on this day in 2019. Their devotion, resolve and service to the nation remain forever etched in our collective consciousness. Every Indian draws strength from their enduring courage, invoking national resolve and eternal gratitude.

The deadliest assault on Indian forces in Kashmir since 1989 strained India-Pakistan ties, sparking airstrikes on Balakot and skirmishes; investigations led to 19 accused, with key figures eliminated or arrested by 2021, symbolizing unyielding commitment to counter-terrorism.
