
New Delhi, 13 February (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday extended heartfelt congratulations to Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) chief Tarique Rahman for the party's resounding performance in Bangladesh's 13th parliamentary elections held Thursday, sharing bilingual messages in Bengali and English on X early morning.
In his post, PM Modi stated: I convey my warm congratulations to Mr. Tarique Rahman on leading BNP to a decisive victory in the Parliamentary elections in Bangladesh. This victory shows the trust of the people of Bangladesh in your leadership. India will continue to stand in support of a democratic, progressive and inclusive Bangladesh.
He added, I look forward to working with you to strengthen our multifaceted relations and advance our common development goals, reaffirming bilateral commitment amid BNP's projected supermajority; Rahman, son of former President Ziaur Rahman and ex-Prime Minister Khaleda Zia, returned from 17-year London exile with wife Dr. Zubaida Rahman and daughter on December 25 last year.
