Chennai, 30 January (H.S.) : The Chennai police on Friday morning successfully recovered the body of a woman from the Perungudi dump yard, marking a grim conclusion to a three day search operation. The deceased has been identified as the wife of a Bihar migrant worker who was brutally murdered alongside her husband and their two year old son.

This horrific triple murder first came to light on Monday, January 26, when the body of the migrant worker was found stuffed inside a gunny bag on Indira Nagar 1st Avenue in Adyar. Following a meticulous investigation into the man’s identity, the authorities were led to a group of suspects who eventually confessed to the triple killing.

The investigation took a darker turn on Wednesday, January 28, when police recovered the toddler’s body from the banks of the Buckingham Canal near the Kasturba Nagar MRTS railway station. The search for the mother intensified after the accused informed investigators that they had disposed of her remains in a garbage bin near a bakery in Taramani.

Following the trail of the waste management system, the police focused their efforts on the Perungudi landfill. Five migrant workers, identified as Sikandar, Narender Kumar, Rabindranath Tagore, Bikas, and another individual, have been arrested in connection with the crime.

According to police authorities, the motive and further details of the execution are being recorded as the investigation continues to ensure all legal proceedings are strictly followed against the perpetrators.
