Lucknow,
18 Jan (HS): Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated in the capital Lucknow on
Sunday that Uttar Pradesh will become the country's largest healthcare and
medical technology hub. He stated that the government is moving forward with
full commitment towards making the state a national and global hub of medical
technology, healthcare innovation, and pharma manufacturing. Under the guidance
of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Uttar Pradesh has undergone historic
transformation in the healthcare sector over the past nine and a quarter years,
the results of which are clearly visible on the ground today.
Quality
care at the last mile: Addressing the Health Conclave, the Chief Minister said
that Uttar Pradesh, as the country's largest healthcare consumer market, bears
the burden of the health needs of over 350 million people. In the past nine and
a quarter years, Uttar Pradesh has transformed the health sector in ways
previously unimaginable. The Chief Minister said that before the implementation
of the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, if someone in a poor family became
seriously ill, the entire family would be gripped by fear and financial crisis.
Treatment was often left incomplete due to lack of government support and
resources. Today, 55 million families in Uttar Pradesh have been issued
Ayushman Golden Cards, providing free healthcare services up to Rs. 5 lakh per
family. Eligible families who could not join the Ayushman Yojana for some
reason have been covered through the Chief Minister Jan Arogya Yojana.
From
Technology to Ease of Living: The Chief Minister said that the next goal is to
realize Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of ease of living.
This requires the maximum use of technology. The screening process should begin
at the village level, so that patients don't have to travel 40-50 kilometers
unnecessarily. The Health and Wellness Center should determine the level of
care a patient needs. This is possible through teleconsultation, telemedicine,
and AI-based screening.
New
impetus to the medical device and pharma sector: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath
stated that the Medical Device Park in the Yamuna Authority area and the Bulk
Drug Pharma Park in Lalitpur are being developed on a war footing. The
objective is not only to achieve a self-reliant India, but also to move from
Make in India to Make for the World. The COVID-19
pandemic has taught us that the world displays its monopoly during times of
crisis. Therefore, the country and the state must become self-reliant in the
fields of health and medical technology.
Invitation
to investors to come to UP: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, while inviting
domestic and international investors and industry leaders to visit Uttar
Pradesh, said that the state has excellent infrastructure, a safe environment,
and a single-window system. The government will ensure timely approvals and
support at every level. He expressed confidence that Uttar Pradesh can become a
major hub not only in the country but also globally in the fields of medical
technology, healthcare, and pharma.
During
the event, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath dedicated the UP-IMRAS (Integrated
Medical Research Application System) software by pressing a remote button. This
state-of-the-art integrated digital platform has been developed to simplify,
transparently, and timely conduct research related to clinical trials,
pharmaceuticals, and medical devices. Through this software, researchers will
now be able to submit all their research requirements, proposals, and
permissions completely online.
