New Delhi, 18 January (H.S.): Delhi BJP General Secretary and MP Yogendra Chandoliya on Sunday interrogated the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) regarding Leader of Opposition Atishi Marlena's alleged disrespect toward Sikh Gurus, questioning why AAP leaders have shielded her from public and media scrutiny since the evening of January 6.
Addressing a press conference alongside Delhi BJP state spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor, Chandoliya demanded clarity: if Atishi Marlena had not committed any irreverence against the Sikh Guru Sahiban, why has AAP kept her secluded from Delhi residents and the media since January 6 evening?
He recounted that on January 7, AAP legislators raised objections in the Delhi Assembly with Speaker Vijender Gupta over a video posted by Minister Kapil Mishra on X, urging its investigation; the Speaker promptly acceded, forwarding the clip for probe.Chandoliya spotlighted the anomaly: on the very same day, Punjab authorities lodged an FIR against Delhi's Cabinet Minister based on that video, astonishingly producing an investigation report within hours.
The Delhi BJP MP pressed AAP leadership on a glaring inconsistency—if they truly objected to the Assembly incident, why file the FIR in Punjab rather than Delhi itself?
