Chennai, 18 January (H.S.) : State Minister for Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments, HR&CE, PK Sekarbabu has strongly criticized AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami, EPS, claiming that the opposition leader lacks original thinking.
Speaking to reporters on Sunday after inspecting infrastructure projects in North Chennai, the Minister alleged that the AIADMK is merely imitating the initiatives introduced by the ruling DMK government.
He stated that the AIADMK’s strategy appears limited to following the path laid down by Chief Minister MK Stalin and making minor adjustments, such as increasing existing schemes by a small margin rather than presenting new concepts.
The Minister’s remarks were also directed at former BJP state president K Annamalai, who had recently used a Telugu proverb to criticize the DMK’s electoral promises. In response, Minister Sekarbabu used another proverb to suggest that those without official standing should first gain the necessary eligibility before questioning the government’s actions.
He emphasized that the first phase of the AIADMK’s election announcements clearly demonstrates a lack of independent vision, asserting that no new thoughts have emerged from the opposition leadership.
During his visit to Wall Tax Road, Minister Sekarbabu reviewed various ongoing projects under the North Chennai Development Plan, including the upgradation of streets and the construction of housing units. He confirmed that efforts are being made to complete at least 40 projects before the upcoming elections.
The Minister also highlighted that 770 housing units and upgraded senior citizens' homes would soon be inaugurated by the Chief Minister. He reiterated the government's commitment to urban development while dismissing the opposition's claims as being devoid of merit or innovation.
