New Delhi, 14 January (H.S.): Special Judge Chandar Jeet Singh at Patiala House Court convicted Asiya Andrabi, leader of the terrorist organization Dukhtaran-e-Millat, and her two associates on charges of terror funding on Wednesday.

In addition to Asiya Andrabi, the court held her two aides—Sofi Fahmida and Nahida Nasreen—guilty as well. The court declared all three guilty under Sections 120B, 121, 121A, 124A, 153A, 153B, and 505 of the Indian Penal Code, along with Sections 18, 20, and 39 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).

A case was registered against them in April 2020 for sedition and delivering hate speeches in Jammu and Kashmir. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) had filed a case against them, along with their organization, in April 2018.

Dukhtaran-e-Millat is a banned organization under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967.Case Background and ChargesThe court took cognizance on December 6, 2018, of the charge sheet filed against the three accused.

The NIA alleges that the trio ran campaigns abroad to seek assistance. Their objective was to harm India's sovereignty and territorial integrity. Dukhtaran-e-Millat observed March 23, 2018, as Pakistan Day.

Addressing the event, Asiya Andrabi declared that all Muslims of the Indian subcontinent are Pakistanis based on religion, faith, and love for the Prophet. During this program, Pakistan's national anthem was also sung.
