Azamgarh,

14 Jan (HS): A shocking incident unfolded last night in the Amilo neighborhood

of the Mubarakpur police station area of Azamgarh district, Uttar Pradesh.

Family members are accused of brutally beating their own son to death in a

domestic dispute, while his wife and one-and-a-half-year-old son were also

seriously injured. Both injured are undergoing treatment at the district

hospital. Police have detained five of the accused family members and begun

questioning them.

Shabana

Bano, the deceased's wife, a resident of Amilo Mohalla in Mubarakpur, alleges

that late Tuesday night, her husband Mohammad Tahir's parents, brother, and

other family members locked the door of their home from inside. They then

stuffed a cloth into Tahir's mouth and brutally beat him with sticks and other weapons.

After

the assault, Tahir, who was seriously injured, was thrown out of the house.

When Shabana Bano and her one and a half year old son tried to intervene, they

were also beaten up by the family members and were seriously injured. After the

incident, Shabana Bano called 112 and informed the police. The police reached

the spot and first took the injured to Mubarakpur Hospital, from where they

were referred to the district hospital. During treatment at the district

hospital, doctors declared Mohammad Tahir dead early on Wednesday.

Meanwhile,

CO Sadar Aastha Jaiswal stated that the deceased's wife had initially filed a

dowry harassment claim, after which the deceased's father had evicted his son.

This led to an argument and physical altercation within the family, resulting

in Mohammad Tahir's death. She stated that five family members have been

detained and are being questioned, and the investigation into the incident is

ongoing.
