Mumbai, 14 Jan (HS): Former
MLA and staunch supporter of Nationalist Congress Party Founder Sharad Pawar,
Ramesh Kadam, has resigned from the party. This is a major shock to the party.
Kadam lost election
of Chiplun Nagaradhyaksha and resigned as the Regional Unit President alleging
lack of support by the party workers in the municipal elections.
Ramesh Kadam joined
NCP in 1984. He remained with Sharad Pawar after Ajit Pawar revolted with the
support of most of the party leaders.
Kadam’s resignation
comes following announcement of elections in 12 Zilla Parishads and 125
Panchayat Samitis scheduled for February 5.
