Morigaon (Assam), 30 August (HS): A man drowned in a pond at Thanesaruwat village in Morigaon district. The deceased has been identified as Nandeshwar Nath.

According to police sources on Saturday, Nath went missing after he accidentally slipped into the pond. Local residents initially launched a search but failed to trace him, after which the SDRF was informed.

The SDRF team later reached the spot and recovered the body from the water. Police have sent the body for post-mortem examination and registered a case for further investigation.------
