Imphal, 30 August (HS): Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla on Saturday toured the Saraswati Bal Vidya Mandir School, run by the Northeast Tribal Service Committee, in the Andro area of Imphal.

The Governor was warmly welcomed by students with a song on his arrival. Yashwant Sharma, president of the committee, informed that the residential school was established in 1978 with the aim of integrating children from underprivileged communities of the Andro region into the mainstream through education.

Interacting with the students, Governor Bhalla said that education teaches the art of living and helps citizens build a strong identity for the nation. He expressed satisfaction with the school’s arrangements and advised the management to continue striving for quality education.

Members of the management committee, teachers and students were also present on the occasion.
