BTR CEM Pramod Boro unveils statues of first Bodo language martyrs in Salbari

Baksa (Assam), 10 August (HS): Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) Chief Executive Member (CEM) Pramod Boro on Sunday unveiled the statues of the first martyrs of the Bodo language movement, Amlarama Boro and Shibram Boro at Khushrabari in Baksa district. He paid heartfelt tributes to both martyrs on the occasion.

Speaking to the media about the upcoming BTC elections, Boro said that elections come and go, some win and some lose, but the Bodo community must survive. “It takes time to develop a system. Many people in India have gone to jail for corruption, but in the past five years, we have worked significantly to improve governance,” he said.

Commenting on the relationship between BPF and UPPL, Boro stated that it is not a partnership for personal gain but a relationship focused on the future. “Politics divides society, but national organizations unite it,” he added.

Responding to Hagrama Mohilary’s remark that “if Pramod Boro is lucky, he will get two or three seats,” the CEM said Mohilary is no one to give him a certificate. “I have given love and affection to 3.5 million people of the BTR. If I don’t get love in return, it will be the people’s decision,” he said.

The event was attended by Salbari constituency councillor Jay Musahary, several officials of the Bodo Sahitya Sabha, and members of ABSU.
