Delhi, 4 July (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid homage to Swami Vivekananda on his Punya Tithi, highlighting his enduring influence on society and instilling pride and confidence in India's history and cultural heritage.

The Prime Minister posted on X;

I bow to Swami Vivekananda Ji on his Punya Tithi. His thoughts and vision for our society remains our guiding light. He ignited a sense of pride and confidence in our history and cultural heritage. He also emphasised on walking the path of service and compassion.

Swami Vivekananda, born Narendranath Datta, was an influential Indian Hindu monk and the chief disciple of Ramakrishna. He played a key role in introducing Vedanta and Yoga to the West, promoting interfaith awareness and elevating Hinduism globally. Revered as a patriotic saint in India, his birthday is commemorated as National Youth Day. Vivekananda attained mahasamadhi on July 4, 1902, according to his disciples.
