Based on accurate intelligence, joint teams of Manipur Police, Assam Rifles/Army and Central Paramilitary Forces conducted a massive search operation in the hilly and remote areas of Tengnoupal, Kangpokpi, Chandel and Churachandpur districts.

A total of 203 weapons were recovered in the operation, including 21 INSAS rifles, 11 AK-series rifles, 26 SLRs, two sniper rifles, three carbines, 17 .303 rifles, two MA assault rifles, two mortars (51mm), three M79 grenade launchers, 38 'Pompey' country-made weapons and many other country-made weapons, pistols and bolt-action rifles.

Apart from these, 30 IDs, 10 hand grenades, nine Pompey shells, two Lathod grenades and a large number of 5.56 mm and 7.62 mm bullets were also seized.
