New Delhi, June 13 (H.S): Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman will meet public sector bank heads on June 27 to review their financial performance and government scheme implementations. The meeting, influenced by recent Reserve Bank interest rate cuts, will cover annual growth assessments and current financial year targets for 2025-26. Following a 50 basis point reduction in the repo rate by the RBI, the minister may encourage banks to enhance lending to productive sectors to stimulate economic growth, which has fallen to a four-year low of 6.5 percent in FY 2024-25.
