- Demands strict action against the culprits

Guwahati, 13 June (HS): Assam Pradesh Congress Committee President and MP Gaurav Gogoi has expressed deep concern over the recent unrest in Dhubri. He said that the administration should take immediate action by identifying the anti-social elements involved in the conspiracy to disturb the peace in Dhubri and they should be given strict punishment.

Gaurav Gogoi also said that while taking action against the culprits, it should be ensured that no innocent citizen is unnecessarily troubled. He stressed that just as it is the responsibility of the common people to respect the Constitution and the law, it is also the responsibility of the people holding constitutional posts.

He appealed to all sensitive citizens and said that we can never let the bond of harmony, trust, faith and mutual respect between different communities break. At such a time, all sections of society should avoid any such statement or action that hurts anyone's sentiments or harms mutual trust.

Gogoi said that instead of making provocative statements, we should work towards maintaining restraint, patience, trust and mutual harmony. This is the need of the hour.
