Agra,
01 June (HS): Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath addressed a huge seminar organized
in Agra under the Punyashloka Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar Birth Tricentenary Year
Memorial Campaign 2025. The Chief Minister said that during the Mughal period,
when foreign invaders destroyed and corrupted the symbols of India's identity
and faith, especially the temples, then Maharani Ahilyabai did the great work
of their revival 250 years ago. CM Yogi said that Lokmata taught the Malwa
Empire the virtues of self-defense. Today the Indian Army does surgical strikes
and air strikes with the same inspiration. When Pakistan harbors terrorists,
India enters their territory and kills them. The Indian Army destroyed
Pakistan's air system and forced the enemy to bow down. This is the result of
the inspiration of Lokmata's great personality.
The
personality of Punyashloka is still enlightening and inspiring us: The Chief
Minister said that when the society takes inspiration from its national heroes
and heroines, no force can become an obstacle in its path. The great
personality of Lokmata Ahilyabai is a living example of this. The work she did
for women, handicraftsmen, artisans, farmers, youth, security and cultural
heritage of India is unforgettable and commendable. He said that Punyashloka
Devi Ahilyabai renovated many religious places including Puri's Jagannath
Temple, Gaya Temple, Kashi Vishwanath Temple, Kedarnath Dham, Mahakal Temple,
Omkareshwar Temple, Somnath Temple, Bhimashankar Temple and Rameswaram Temple
with her personal money instead of the treasury. She lived only 70 years, but
her personality is still enlightening and inspiring us.
Lokmata
taught the virtues of self-defense: The Chief Minister said that inspired by
the works of Lokmata Devi Ahilyabai Holkar, the double engine government is
running many schemes. CM Yogi made special mention of Lakhpati Didi, Beti
Bachao Beti Padhao, Matri Vandana Yojana and Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan. Along
with this, the work being done in Kashi Vishwanath Dham, the grand Ram temple
in Ayodhya, Mahalok in Mahakal, Kedarnath and Badrinath Dham, Somnath and
Rameshwaram temples are also said to be a part of this series.
The
Chief Minister also mentioned the changes that have taken place in Uttar
Pradesh. He said that earlier some people used to nurture mafias, which used to
create problems for law and order. But today the double engine government has
named the medical college in Auraiya after Lokmata. Earlier some people used to
change the name of the degree college built in her name, but we are honoring
her legacy. CM Yogi praised the work done by Devi Ahilyabai for women and
handicrafts. He said that just as Banarasi sarees in Kashi are world famous,
Lokmata gave global recognition to the sarees of Mahishmati. She made a
detailed action plan for women, which is still inspiring.
On
this occasion, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, his wife Sudesh Dhankhar,
Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya, organizer and convener of the seminar,
Union Minister Prof. SP Singh Baghel, Chairman of Maharashtra Legislative
Council Shriram Shinde, MP VK Parthasarathy, MP Vachaspati Nagaraju, former
Deputy CM of Goa Chandrakant Kavlekar, program chairman Hari Singh, ministers
of the state government, MPs, MLAs and other public representatives including
people associated with Pal and Baghel community were present.
