Howrah, 1 June (H.S.): An undertrial prisoner died mysteriously on Sunday morning in Howrah District Correctional Home. On Sunday morning, the body of the prisoner was found hanging from the gate of the cell inside the correctional home. According to police sources, the name of the deceased is Mohammad Salim. He was accused in a case of attempted murder. About four years ago, the police of B Garden police station had arrested Salim. Salim was in jail for four years. His trial was going on from the jail itself.

The family members alleged that Salim has been murdered. The family members said that there was no mark on his neck. Salim's post-mortem and magistrate investigation will be done in the police morgue. The deceased's mother Salimi Begum said that a few years ago there was a fight between two families. Her son was in jail for the last four years in connection with the incident. Sayla Khatun, a relative of the deceased, said, We went to meet him. Howrah police said he hanged himself. He was hanging from the door gate. There were two more prisoners in the cell where he was kept.

They said he hanged himself while they were sleeping. We saw the pictures. He did not hang himself. He was murdered. According to police sources, a prisoner named Mohammad Salim tried to commit suicide by putting a towel around his neck. He died after being taken to the hospital. He was an accused in the Dharmendra murder case. He was in jail for many years. Initial investigation has not found any injury marks on the body. The body is being sent for post-mortem.
