Guwahati, 1 June (HS): Governor Laxman Prasad Acharya administered the oath to Ranjan Sharma as State Election Commissioner in a dignified ceremony held at Raj Bhavan on Sunday.

Earlier, Chief Secretary of Assam Government Dr. Ravi Kota sought permission from the Governor to start the proceedings of the ceremony.

Additional Chief Secretary Dr. JB Ekka, Additional Chief Secretary Kalyan Chakraborty, Commissioner and Secretary to Governor SS Meenakshi Sundaram, Commissioner and Secretary of Finance Department Virendra Mittal and many senior officials of the government were present in the oath taking ceremony.---------------
