Chennai, 1 June (H.S.): Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin addressed the DMK general council meeting, highlighting the party's remarkable journey and its efforts to rescue the state from the depths it had fallen into. Stalin's remarks underscored the party's commitment to the state's progress and welfare.
The DMK general council meeting provided a platform for Stalin to outline the party's achievements and future plans. With a strong emphasis on the party's ideology and values, Stalin reaffirmed the DMK's dedication to serving the people of Tamil Nadu.
Meanwhile, the party has been actively engaged in various initiatives, including the recent announcement of its candidates for the Rajya Sabha elections. The DMK has nominated senior advocate P Wilson, party leader SR Sivalingam, and poet-writer Ruqayya Malik, while allotting one seat to its ally, Makkal Needhi Maiam, which has nominated its founder, actor-politician Kamal Haasan.
The Rajya Sabha elections, scheduled for June 19, will determine the representatives for six seats from Tamil Nadu. With the DMK's strength in the State Assembly, the party is expected to win four seats, while the AIADMK is likely to secure two seats with the support of its allies.
