Murshidabad, 1 June (H.S.): There has been a lot of commotion over the allegation of throwing a socket bomb at the house of Domkal Town Trinamool Congress President Kamaruzzaman in Murshidabad late Saturday night. Domkal police station has initiated an investigation into the entire incident. However, according to police sources, no written complaint has been lodged in connection with this incident by the Town Trinamool Congress President or his family till Sunday afternoon. According to sources, at around 2 o'clock last night, some unidentified miscreants threw a socket bomb at the house of Domkal Town Trinamool Congress President Kamaruzzaman located in Kuthir Mod area and fled. It is reported that the bomb exploded under the stairs of his house. At the time of the incident, Kamaruzzaman was sleeping in the house with his family. However, no member of the Trinamool leader's family has suffered any injury in the bomb attack. However, why a socket bomb was thrown at the house of a powerful leader of the ruling party is surprising everyone. Local resident Deepali Karmakar said, 'Last night at around 2 o'clock, when we were sleeping, suddenly a loud sound was heard. At first we thought that the tyre of the car had burst. But today morning it came to light that someone has thrown a bomb at Kamaruzzaman's house.'

Notably, Kamaruzzaman's wife Tuluara Bibi was the elected councillor from ward no. 2 of Domkal Municipality till the term of the Municipal Board of Domkal Municipality ended.

The Domkal Town Trinamool Congress president said, 'I think someone has thrown a bomb in the darkness of the night to scare me and my family members. However, this mischievous group can launch a deadly attack on me if they get a chance.'

Kamaruzzaman said that the attack on the house has no connection with any party dispute. He said, 'Recently some local people have been writing some things on social media. And taking advantage of that opportunity, some miscreants of the area are once again trying to create unrest in Domkal. Perhaps this is the reason why this attack has happened on my house.'

Regarding the entire incident, Domkal MLA Jafikul Islam said, 'I have also informed the police and administration about the incident. They should conduct a proper investigation and take strict action against the real culprits.'
