Kaziranga (Assam), 21 May (HS): All anti-poaching camps and commando action groups were alerted on Wednesday morning after receiving intelligence about the movement of armed poachers in the Agartali range of Kaziranga National Park. All exit routes were cordoned off while conducting an extensive search operation in the park area.

An armed suspect was killed during an encounter in the Dooramari APC area at around 12:45 pm. At present, the search operation is on to find his other accomplices.

Teams of police and civil magistrates are engaged in the operation as per the necessary procedure in coordination with the DFO of Eastern Assam Wildlife Division and his team.--------
