New Delhi, May 2 (H.S.): A meeting chaired by the Home Secretary of India was held in New Delhi to address the implementation of the Bhakra Beas Management Board's (BBMB) decision to release an additional 4500 cusecs of water to Haryana for 8 days to meet urgent water needs.
Senior officials from the Government of India and partner states, including Punjab and Rajasthan, attended the meeting. The BBMB was advised to proceed with the extra water release.
Additionally, it was agreed that during the dam filling period, excess water would also be provided to Punjab to satisfy any extra demands. BBMB will soon convene to finalize implementation modalities.
