New Delhi, May 3 (H.S.): The Sahitya Akademi has invited books translated into all 24 Indian languages recognized by it for the Sahitya Akademi Translation Award for the year 2025 from Indian translators, their well-wishers, and publishers. The award will consider books published for the first time in the years 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023 (between January 1, 2019, and December 31, 2023).

The last date for submitting the application along with one copy of each book is May 31, 2025. Detailed information related to the award can be found in the Sahitya Akademi Translation Award rules available on the Akademi's website www.sahitya-akademi.gov.in.

Since 1989, the Sahitya Akademi has been awarding the Sahitya Akademi Translation Award in each of the 24 Indian languages it recognizes. These include Assamese, Bengali, Bodo, Dogri, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Kashmiri, Konkani, Maithili, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Nepali, Odia, Punjabi, Rajasthani, Sanskrit, Santali, Sindhi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu, awarding Indian translators for their outstanding works every year. Each award winner receives ₹50,000 and a plaque.
