Mangalore, 03 May (H.S): The Mangalore Police Commissioner has made an important statement regarding the murder case of Hindu activist Suhas Shetty from Mangaluru, which caused a stir in Karnataka. Speaking after a meeting with Home Minister Dr G Parameshwar, Police Commissioner Anupam Agarwal said that eight people have been arrested in connection with the incident and gave details.
It has been confirmed that two of the arrested are Hindus. However, the Police Commissioner has revealed that Fazil conspired to murder Suhas Shetty to avenge his brother Adil Suhas's killing and provided financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh. Apart from this conspiracy, it has been revealed that Adil also mobilized the support of a couple of Hindus to avenge the murder of his brother.
The gruesome scene of Suhas Shetty's murder was captured on CCTV and mobile cameras of the location. The Mangaluru police also arrested the accused based on these videos. The police, who knew that the accused were hiding in Dakshina Kannada district, have arrested eight people. Abdul Saffan, Niaz, Mohammed Muzzamil, Qalandar Shafi, Mohammed Rizwan, Ranjith and Nagaraj have been arrested. It is feared that nine people were involved in Suhas Shetty's murder.
The police, who started the investigation, learned the real truth based on information that the case was related to a 2023 case. During the investigation, it was revealed that Faizal's brother Adil, whom Suhasa Shetty's gang had previously killed, had identified himself with Suhas Shetty's gang and had plotted to kill Suhas. It has been revealed that Fazil used Hindu youths to kill Suhas to avenge the murder of his elder brother.
Home Minister Dr G. Parameshwara, who held a meeting with senior police officers in Mangaluru, responded to the media after receiving complete information and said that strict action would be taken against the accused in the murder case within the scope of the law. He also said that it is everyone's duty to maintain peace in society and that provocative statements should not be made, otherwise the police will be authorized to take legal action against them.
The murder case, which has led to political accusations and counter-accusations in the state, has taken another turn, raising concerns among the public about what will happen in the coming days.
