New Delhi, May 2 (H.S): The Rouse Avenue court's decision on Aam Aadmi Party leader Naresh Balyan's relief in the MCOCA case will be made on May 5. This follows a hearing on Friday, where Special Judge Digvijay Singh addressed a supplementary charge sheet filed by the Delhi police.

Advocate Akhand Pratap Singh stated that Balyan, along with co-accused Sahil alias Poly, Vijay alias Kalu, and Jyoti Prakash alias Baba, was charged under sections 3 and 4 of MCOCA on May 1. Previously, a nearly 300-page charge sheet against accused Ritik Peter under section 3 of MCOCA had been filed on January 4. Balyan was arrested on November 30, 2024, in a recovery case and granted bail on December 4, only to be re-arrested in the MCOCA case.

The court had previously extended the investigation periods for co-accused Sahil and Vijay until May 2, and for Balyan by 60 days in March. An earlier charge sheet against Ritik Peter was acknowledged on February 24.

Additionally, the BJP released an audio clip featuring a conversation between Balyan and gangster Kapil Sangwan, highlighting connections to criminal activities dating back to 2023. Sangwan, a notorious gangster in the UK, is implicated in high-profile murder cases. Balyan represented the Uttam Nagar assembly seat in both 2015 and 2019 elections.
