New Delhi, 2 May (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for various development projects in Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh, amounting to over Rs 58,000 crore. He highlighted Amaravati as a blend of tradition and modernity, embodying the aspirations of its rich heritage and India's vision for progress. These projects are aimed at laying a solid foundation for the state's ambitions and the nation’s developmental goals.
PM Modi conveyed his best wishes to the people of Andhra Pradesh, including Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan. He emphasized Amaravati's historical significance, comparing it to Indra Lok, and envisioned it as a symbol of 'Swarna Andhra'. The Prime Minister presented a transformative outlook for Amaravati, intending it to spearhead modernization in the state.
He announced the establishment of the Navdurga Testing Range in Nagayalanka to enhance national defense, likening it to the power of Maa Durga. Modi reaffirmed India's dedication to infrastructure development, focusing on supporting the underprivileged, farmers, youth, and women under the ‘Viksit Bharat’ initiative.
The Prime Minister outlined an ambitious vision for Amaravati, intending it to emerge as a center of excellence in Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Green Energy, and other crucial sectors. Commending Chief Minister Naidu for his forward-thinking approach, he recalled initiating Praja Rajadhani in 2015 and assured continuous support for Amaravati's foundational needs.
PM Modi urged collective efforts to fulfill the dreams of NTR Garu, aiming to establish Amaravati as a crucial growth driver for a developed India. He highlighted that significant investments have been made in physical and digital infrastructure, with Andhra Pradesh reaping substantial benefits. He detailed the boost in the railway budget and the pivotal role of rail networks in fostering regional connectivity and supporting farmers and industries.
Furthermore, Modi emphasized the multiplier effect of infrastructure on the manufacturing sector, noting the extensive benefits to industries reliant on raw materials. He stressed the government's commitment to farmers, with substantial allocations for fertilizers, advanced seeds, and financial support through various schemes that have substantially enhanced their livelihoods.
Shri Modi emphasized the rapid growth of irrigation projects and the commencement of river-linking initiatives to provide farmers with sufficient water supply. He expressed optimism about the Polavaram Project's renewed progress under the new state government, forecasting transformative impacts for millions in Andhra Pradesh. Moreover, he recognized the state's vital role in advancing India's space objectives and announced advancements in the defense sector, including the establishment of a new defense institution and the formal recognition of the Nava Durga Testing Range, which enhances India's defense capabilities.
The strength of India lies not just in its weaponry but in its unity, stated the Prime Minister, underlining the importance of unity, further embodied by the development of Ekta Malls in various cities across the country. He unveiled plans for an Ekta Mall in Visakhapatnam, designed to showcase the craftsmanship and artistry from artisans throughout India under one roof. These malls aim to connect people with the nation's vast and vibrant diversity while supporting the local economy and reinforcing the vision of Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat.
Additionally, Prime Minister Modi announced that this year’s International Day of Yoga, celebrated on June 21st, marks its 10th anniversary. This milestone reflects a persistent commitment to promoting wellness and mindfulness, uniting people through the ancient practice of yoga. The events surrounding this celebration are intended to further embody the spirit of unity and cultural heritage within India. Through these initiatives, the government seeks to promote communal harmony and pride in the nation's diverse talents and traditions, while providing platforms for artisans and enhancing health and wellness among citizens.
