Agartala, 16 May (HS): Vigilant soldiers of BSF Tripura foiled a major smuggling attempt on the India-Bangladesh border. A BSF spokesperson said on Friday that this action was taken in the area of Border Outpost (BOP) Vinod, from where 250 re-furbished mobile phones and 400 mobile displays were seized, which were being tried to be sent to Bangladesh by smugglers.

The total value of the seized electronic goods is said to be around ₹35.87 lakh. BSF foiled this smuggling by taking timely action, which has dealt another blow to border security and illegal trade.

BSF has handed over the seized goods to the concerned authorities for further action. The matter is under investigation.
