Jammu/Delhi, May 11 (HS): A suspected infiltration attempt was foiled late Saturday night at the Nagrota military station in Jammu and Kashmir. A brief exchange of gunfire occurred when a vigilant sentry challenged the suspect in time, resulting in minor injuries to one soldier. The Army's White Knight Corps confirmed the incident, stating that a search operation is underway to locate the suspect.

The White Knight Corps provided information on the social media platform 'X', saying, When suspicious activity was observed near the perimeter, a vigilant sentry challenged, after which firing occurred. The sentry sustained minor injuries. The search operation is ongoing.

Security agencies are linking this incident to the recent India-Pakistan tensions and potential terrorist activities. A high alert has been issued across the area. Joint teams of the Army and police are conducting a combing operation in the surrounding regions. Additional forces have been deployed for the search operation. According to officials, this could be a possible attempt at terrorist infiltration.
