New Delhi, May 11 (H.S.): Although a ceasefire has been announced between India and Pakistan, the Indian Air Force declared on Sunday afternoon that the armed forces' 'Operation Sindoor' is still ongoing. Meanwhile, this morning, a discussion took place at the Prime Minister's residence between Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, and top military leadership regarding the current situation.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a meeting at his residence this morning. The meeting was attended by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar, NSA Ajit Doval, CDS General Anil Chauhan, and heads of the three armed forces. In the meantime, the Indian Air Force stated in a release that since Operation Sindoor is still ongoing, a detailed briefing will be provided in due course. The Air Force has also urged everyone to refrain from speculation and the dissemination of unverified information. The Air Force mentioned that the tasks assigned during Operation Sindoor have been carried out successfully with precision and professionalism. The operation has been conducted thoughtfully and prudently in alignment with national objectives.
On the other hand, after the announcement of the ceasefire, a meeting is set to take place between the Directors General of Military Operations (DGMO) of India and Pakistan on May 12, where a written agreement is expected. It is believed that this was discussed in the top meeting with the Prime Minister.
Post-ceasefire, the situation appears to be normal in the bordering states. There have been no reports of drones, gunfire, or shelling overnight in Srinagar, Baramulla, Uri, and Poonch. The situation also looks normal in Barmer, Rajasthan. In Pathankot, Punjab, the situation has appeared normal. The Amritsar administration had issued an advisory urging people to stay indoors, but after the red alert was lifted, activities have returned to normal.
