Chandigarh, May 11 (H.S.):The BSF, along with the Punjab Police, has seized RDX, hand grenades, and several weapons from near the India-Pakistan border. After recovering the explosive materials and weapons, the BSF and Punjab Police launched a search operation in the border area.
According to information, on Sunday morning, villagers informed the police that some suspicious objects were lying near village Chak Bala. A team from the BSF and Punjab Police reached the location and cordoned off the entire village. During the search operation conducted in the fields, they recovered 972 grams of RDX, one remote control device with charger, two hand grenades, two detonators, eight batteries, one black box, 30 live cartridges, two pistols, and four magazines.
Confirming this recovery, Punjab Police Director General Gaurav Yadav stated that this could have been an attempt to carry out a major terrorist incident, which the police and BSF have successfully thwarted. The DGP announced that a case has been registered in this regard at the Ajnala police station in Amritsar.
