Chennai, 8 April (H.S.): BJP leader K. Annamalai has criticized Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin today for skipping Prime Minister Narendra Modi's event in Rameswaram, where the PM inaugurated a new Pamban Bridge and launched other initiatives worth over Rs 8,000 crore.
Annamalai accused Stalin of prioritizing a personal holiday over the significant infrastructure event, suggesting this reflects the DMK's negligent governance. He claimed Stalin cited a state government function as an excuse but went to Nilgiris for a holiday instead.
Annamalai predicted DMK's defeat in the 2026 assembly elections, stating that voters will reject their publicity-driven politics and negligent attitude. This criticism is part of a broader political tension between the BJP and DMK in Tamil Nadu.
The dispute highlights the deepening political rivalry in Tamil Nadu's complex landscape between BJP and DMK, with Annamalai emphasizing the need for capable leadership and progress in the state.
