Bongaigaon (Assam), 27 April (HS): Bongaigaon police has got another success in the drive against drugs. Police said on Sunday that based on reliable information, the in-charge of Lengtisinga police post and a team of women policemen raided the Pererchar Part-3 area and nabbed the drug peddler.

The police have identified the arrested accused as Sanidul Isam. 3.63 grams of suspected brown sugar, a syringe and a motorcycle were recovered from him. According to police officials, the accused was active in the supply of drugs and was under police surveillance for a long time.

After the arrest, a case has been registered against Sanidul Isam under relevant sections. The police is now trying to find out from where he was bringing the drugs and to whom he was supplying them. More arrests are expected in this case.

The Superintendent of Police has praised the Lengtisinga police team for this success and has given instructions to further intensify the ongoing drive against drugs in the district.
