New Delhi, April 21 (H.S.):The Supreme Court faces accusations of overstepping executive rights. Advocate Vishnu Shankar Jain raised a petition today before Justice Gavai, seeking emergency measures and paramilitary deployment in West Bengal, with a hearing scheduled for tomorrow.

Jain mentioned an additional application on the matter. Justice Gavai noted the possibility of issuing a mandamus to the President.

Meanwhile, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar criticized the Supreme Court during a ceremony, asserting that it has become a super parliament, and remarked that the Court is misusing Article 142 of the Constitution, referencing its delay in approving several Tamil Nadu state assembly bills.
