Odisha CM Approves Significant Salary Hike for Special Striking Force Personnel


Bhubaneswar, 17 April (H.S.): In a landmark decision aimed at enhancing the efficiency and morale of the state's elite security force, Odisha Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi has approved a substantial increase in the monthly remuneration of personnel serving in the Odisha Special Striking Force (OSSF). This move is part of a broader initiative to strengthen internal security and acknowledge the dedicated service of the force.

As part of the expansion of the unit, the state government has established three new battalions under the OSSF. These battalions primarily comprise ex-servicemen from the Indian Army, Navy, and Central Armed Police Forces, who bring valuable experience and expertise to the force.

The Chief Minister has sanctioned a revised pay structure for various ranks, resulting in a significant boost in monthly salaries. The approved salary enhancements are as follows: Constables (GD): increased from ₹30,000 to ₹45,000,

Lance Naik/Naik/Havildar (GD): increased from ₹32,000 to ₹50,000, Junior Commissioned Officers (GD) and Instructors: increased from ₹40,000 to ₹55,000, Dinghy Drivers, Seamen, Mechanics, and Khalasis: increased from ₹30,000 to ₹45,000, Sarang and Engine Drivers: increased from ₹32,000 to ₹50,000, and Master Grade Personnel: increased from ₹40,000 to ₹55,000.

According to the Chief Minister's Office, this decision is a tribute to the commitment and courage demonstrated by these personnel. It also reflects the government's focus on building a more robust and responsive security infrastructure in the state.
