Bhubaneswar, 15 April (H.S.) Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Shri Nitin Gadkari, is set to visit Odisha on April 17 for a series of key events and project reviews, according to Odisha's Law, Works, and Excise Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan.

As part of his one-day visit, Shri Gadkari will deliver the prestigious Dr. Harekrushna Mahatab Memorial Lecture at Ravenshaw University in Cuttack. The event is expected to draw significant attention from academicians, students, and public policy experts.

Later in the day, the Union Minister will conduct a comprehensive review of all ongoing projects undertaken by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) across the state. This review will assess the progress, timelines, and implementation of various national highway development initiatives in Odisha.

A major highlight of the visit will be the inauguration and foundation stone laying of several critical infrastructure projects. Shri Gadkari is scheduled to unveil projects worth approximately ₹5,000 crore, including 16 major NHAI initiatives, at a public event.

Minister Harichandan also hinted at a significant announcement likely to be made by the Union Minister during the visit, particularly regarding the future development of road infrastructure in Odisha.
