New Delhi, April 15 (H.S.): The Supreme Court has stated that if a newborn baby is stolen from a hospital, the hospital's license should be suspended first. This comment was made by a bench headed by Justice J.B. Pardiwala while revoking the bail of 13 accused in a child trafficking case in Uttar Pradesh.

In its ruling, the Supreme Court issued comprehensive guidelines to prevent child trafficking and deal with such cases.

The Supreme Court instructed all High Courts in the country to direct lower courts to complete trials in child trafficking cases within six months. Daily hearings should be held in trial courts for such cases. The court made it clear that any negligence in implementing these guidelines will be taken seriously and treated as contempt of court.

In fact, the Supreme Court was hearing a trafficking-related case from Uttar Pradesh, in which there were a total of 18 cases and 13 accused. Among them were individuals involved in a child buying-selling gang, two nurses, and a childless couple who intended to buy a child.

The court expressed displeasure at the attitude of the Uttar Pradesh government and the Allahabad High Court in dealing with this case.
