Madrid, April 15 (HS): With the help of stunning two goals from Argentine star striker Julian Alvarez, Atlético Madrid defeated Real Valladolid 4-2 in a La Liga match, keeping their title hopes alive. Played amidst rain on Monday night at the Metropolitano Stadium, both of Alvarez's goals came from penalties.

Right from the start of the match, Real Valladolid took the lead in the 21st minute with a penalty goal from Mamadou Silla. However, Atlético made a comeback, and in the 25th minute, Julian Alvarez scored a penalty to level the score at 1-1. Just four minutes later, Giuliano Simeone scored to give Atlético a 2-1 lead.

In the second half, Valladolid also showed their strength. In the 56th minute, a free kick from Javi Sánchez was deflected by Conor Gallagher into the net, bringing the score to 2-2. But Atlético did not give up, and in the 71st minute, Alvarez scored another penalty to put his team ahead 3-2.

In the 79th minute of the match, Alvarez had the chance for a hat-trick, but Valladolid's goalkeeper Andre Ferreira saved his shot. However, on the rebound, Alexander Sørloth scored to secure the team's victory, making the score 4-2.

After the match, Alvarez stated, These three points are very important for us. Now we need to focus on the next match. There was a chance for a hat trick, but the team's victory was more important.
