Ahmedabad, April 10 (H.S.): In the 23rd match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, Gujarat Titans defeated Rajasthan Royals by 58 runs. With this victory, the Gujarat team has achieved the top spot in the points table by winning four out of five matches, accumulating eight points. In the match played on Wednesday at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Gujarat batted first and set a massive score of 217 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs. In response, the entire Rajasthan team was dismissed for 159 runs in 19.2 overs.

For the Gujarat team, opening batsman Sai Sudharsan played a brilliant innings of 82 runs. He scored his fourth half-century of the season and played a crucial role in leading the team to a strong score. Besides him, Shah Rukh Khan contributed 36 runs, Rahul Tewatia scored a rapid 24 runs (off 12 balls), and Rashid Khan added 12 runs. Captain Shubman Gill, however, was dismissed early for just 2 runs. For Rajasthan, Tushar Deshpande and Maheesh Theekshana took two wickets each, while Jofra Archer and Sandeep Sharma picked up one wicket each.

The Rajasthan team appeared to be under pressure from the start of their chase. In the very first over, Yashasvi Jaiswal was out after scoring 6 runs. Nitish Rana could only manage 1 run. However, Sanju Samson (41) and Riyan Parag (26) did show some resistance. In the end, Shimron Hetmyer tried to make the match interesting by scoring 52 runs off 32 balls, but the lack of support from other batsmen meant that the team fell short of the target by 58 runs.

The bowlers from Gujarat bowled with discipline. Prasidh Krishna had an outstanding performance, taking 3 wickets, while Rashid Khan and Sai Kishore claimed 2 wickets each. Kulwant Khejroliya, Mohammed Siraj, and Arshad Khan also took one wicket each.
