New Delhi, April 18 (H.S.): Gujarat Titans have signed Sri Lankan player Dasun Shanaka for IPL 2025, replacing Glenn Phillips, who is sidelined with a groin injury and has returned to his home country.

Glenn Phillips was bought by Gujarat Titans this season at a base price of 2 crores. However, he did not get a chance to play in any match and, in the meantime, suffered a groin injury. Following this, the franchise decided to rule him out for the entire tournament.

Dasun Shanaka has previously played for Gujarat Titans in the 2023 season as well, although he only got a chance in a few matches. Once again, the franchise has shown faith in him. Shanaka has been included in the team at his base price of 75 lakhs.

Dasun Shanaka is an experienced all-rounder from Sri Lanka. He has played 102 T20 International matches so far. Known for his aggressive batting and useful bowling, Shanaka can play a crucial role as an all-rounder in Gujarat Titans' playing eleven.
