Rome, April 1 (H.S.): Jasmin Paolini has announced her separation from coach Renzo Furlan on Instagram.

After 10 wonderful years, I would like to sincerely thank Renzo Furlan for his contributions. I will always be grateful for everything he has done for me, Paolini wrote.

Under Furlan's guidance, Paolini made impressive progress. In 2024, she was the runner-up at the French Open and Wimbledon, won a doubles gold medal at the Paris Olympics, and helped Italy win the Billie Jean King Cup. Following this stellar performance, she became the world number four. Furlan also received the WTA Coach of the Year award for his excellent coaching contributions.

Expressing her feelings towards Furlan, Paolini said, Renzo has been not just a coach for me, but has played a significant role in my personality development. The lessons I learned from him will always stay with me. I have great respect for his dedication, passion, and values.

However, Paolini's performances in the 2025 season have not been as impressive so far. She was eliminated in the third round of the Australian Open and lost to world number one Aryna Sabalenka in the semifinals of the Miami Open.

With the French Open starting on May 25, it will be interesting to see if Paolini can replicate her past success without her former coach.
